Sometimes He Calms the Storm – Scott Krippayne
All who sail the sea of faith
Find out before too long
How quickly blue skies can grow dark
And gentle winds grow strong
Suddenly fear is like white water
Pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing
That our Lord is in controlSometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered peace be still
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His childHe has a reason for each trial
That we pass through in life
And though we're shaken
We cannot be pulled apart from Christ
No matter how the driving rain beats down
On those who hold to faith
A heart of trust will always
Be a quiet peaceful placeSometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered peace be still
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child
Sometimes there are songs that seem to speak right to your heart, and this is one of them for me. When I heard this song on the way to Church this morning, I couldn’t help but think of the Ramer Family who suffered a horrible tragedy recently. Please join Ryder & I in praying for this family who lost their 2 year old twins in a drowning accident. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain they feel right now, but what a testimony to read about them clinging to their faith in Jesus during this terrible storm. Here is an excerpt from the Mom’s blog, I just have to share this:
I have a faithful, Heavenly Father who is right beside me through every tear, catching them before they ever hit the ground. He is right beside me with his arms wrapped around me so that I know once my breakdown is over, I can fall into comfort and He will be there. He is right beside me whispering great images into my mind of my precious children at the feet of Jesus singing Hallelujah.
We don’t always know why certain things happen in this world, one day it will all make sense. Until then, let’s be thankful that we have a God that has the ability to calm any storm that crosses our path. And when calming the storm is not an option, we can be confident that it is Him who will hold us tight and carry us through.
Wow, I couldn't agree more with this post and I will most definitely be praying for this family.
